Gangster Fauji held for robbery in Zirakpur
The police have arrested wanted gangster Gagandeep Singh, alias Fauji, of Budhlada, and his associate Mahesh Sharma of Ambala for their allegedly robbing a Zirakpur jeweller at gunpoint on October 14. Two pistols, 52 live rounds and the bike used in the crime have been seized.
The Mohali police in association with their Panchkula counterparts also nabbed third suspect Rahul Vaid, who allegedly tried to run over cops with his car in Pinjore. He will be brought to Mohali on a production warrant later.
On October 14, two bike-borne youths had barged into a jewellery shop in broad daylight in the Lohgarh area and looted ornaments worth lakhs of rupees.
Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek said, “Gagandeep is a wanted gangster and an attempt to murder case was registered against him at Kota, Bundi, in Rajasthan. He had allegedly tried to eliminate a gangster by firing at him on the court premises.”
