Former Panjab University law professor injured in road accident in Haryana
Former chairperson of Panjab University’s Department of Laws, Professor Dr Nishtha Jaswal, got seriously injured in a road accident which took place near Charkhi Dadri in Haryana on Monday morning.
She is currently receiving treatment at Gurgaon’s Medanta Hospital. According to a family member, her condition remains critical.
Jaswal, currently the Vice Chancellor of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur, was travelling from Chandigarh to Jaipur when the mishap took place. She has received multiple injuries.
Before getting appointed at the law university in Jaipur in March this year, she was the vice chancellor of Himachal Pradesh National Law University in Shimla since 2018. Jaswal remained chairperson of Department of Laws in Panjab University from December 2010 to June 2014. She was also the university’s Dean of Student Welfare and was officiated as the Dean of University Instructions.
