A local court has granted bail to Virender Maharishi, who was arrested in connection with a firing incident that took place outside Tamzara Club, Industrial Area, Phase 1, Chandigarh, on December 6.

The club manager had alleged that a group of youths opened fire into the air outside the club after an argument with the staff over bill. He alleged the accused fled the spot without clearing the bill.

The police had arrested five accused, including Virender Maharishi of Ambala City, in this regard.

Lekhraj Sharma, counsel for the accused, argued before the court that no specific allegations were attributed to the accused in the FIR. He said there was no intention of the petitioner to cause injury, which was the basic ingredient to attract Section 307 of the IPC.
