Finance & contract panel of Panchkula MC holds meeting
The Municipal Corporation, Panchkula, today discussed a number of development works of the city, including re-carpeting of various roads in Sector 25 of Ward No. 17, providing and laying EPDM track in Sectors 16 and 7 and other works, during a meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee (F and CC).
The MC has decided to construct a welcome gate from Kalka-Shimla highway toward Old Panchkula road at a cost of Rs 69.32 lakh and carry out maintenance of old-age home building in Sector 27.
The MC will also float a tender to provide house sewer connection to main sewerage network laid under the AMRUT scheme in Kot, Saketri and Ramgarh villages, all of which fall under its jurisdiction. Apart from approving construction of community centres in the city, the MC has extended a private company’s contract for door-to-door collection, segregation, transportation as well as processing of garbage up to December 31, 2024 at a cost of Rs 582 lakh.
The MC aims to begin its project of stray dog adoption and behaviour change. The office has decided to formulate the bylaws for the programme in a week. The project will cost the MC an estimated Rs 79.2 lakh.
