In the last house meeting, AAP and Congress councillors had questioned MC’s funding for the tournament, saying that senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon is president of the UTCA and this forum is not inviting the mayor or councillors to matches. They had contended that instead BJP president Jatinder Pal Malhotra was invited to one of the opening matches and accused the BJP of playing politics over the tournament.

The meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Mayor Kuldeep Kumar in the presence of Commissioner Anindita Mitra and other members, discussed the agenda item regarding adjustment of car bazaar fee and recommended it for the ensuing meeting of the general house for taking a final decision in this regard.
