Experts dwell on animal resources for research
Chandigarh, July 27
The seven-day workshop on ‘ethical contemplation of animal resources for experimentation’ that was organised at the Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) concluded here today.
The aim of the workshop was to provide a push to high-end scientific research and prepare scientific manpower that can venture into research careers and knowledge-based economy.
Dr Sanjeev Khosla, Director, IMTECH, discussed the importance of animal research in improving human health. Dr Rajat Sandhir, Professor, Department of Biochemistry, PU, touched upon models available for research on neurodegenerative diseases.
The workshop was attended virtually by 24 four participants from different institutes and a wide range of topics were covered. — TNS
