Expedite incomplete works: Minister to officials
Haryana Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa today asked the department officials to expedite incomplete road works.
Chairing the first meeting of senior officials of the department at the PWD Rest House in Panchkula, he asked them to prepare schemes and make estimates for road works and other projects.
Gangwa directed the officials to expedite incomplete works. “Collect data regarding need for new roads, repairs and other infrastructure and prepare a report. Be it a city or a village, good roads should be provided in all areas,” he said.
The minister directed the officials to ensure that all roads in the state are at least 18 feet wide.
He said the state had implemented zero-tolerance policy against corruption. Gangwa instructed the officials to register all complaints submitted by people.
“A complaint should be resolved within a week. If the complaint is not resolved make sure to give a reason for it,” he said, adding that the people’s trust on the government should be maintained.
The minister said the BJP government had constructed 2,404-km roads at a cost of Rs 2,519 crore in the past 10 years. A total road length of 40,704 km had been repaired at a cost of Rs 26,707 crore.
