Ex-SHO convicted in 32-year-old kidnapping, illegal confinement case in Mohali

A special CBI court on Wednesday convicted former Sarhali SHO Surinderpal Singh (62) in a 32-year-old kidnapping, illegal confinement and disappearance case of Amritsar residents Sukhdev Singh and his father-in-law, Sulakhan Singh (80), a freedom fighter.

The co-accused, ASI Avtar Singh, had died during the trial.

Surinderpal is already convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in the Jaswant Singh Khalra murder case. He is also convicted and sentenced for 10 years’ imprisonment in another case regarding the kidnapping and disappearance of four family members of Jeo Bala village in Tarn Taran.
