Elections to Bar associations of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh to be held on Feb 28  

Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana has finalised the schedule for elections to the Bar Associations of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

The election will be held on February 28, 2025. The last election to the associations was held on December 15, 2023.

Election will be held for president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer.

Vijender Ahlawat, chairman, Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana, said advocates enrolled with the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana would be eligible to vote after clearing their annual subscription up to January 10.

Ahlawat said all Bar associations would send a list of eligible voters to the Bar Council till January 10. The Bar Council will issue a list to the Returning Officer/Election Committee of the Bar Association concerned up to January 24 and they will put up the voter list on the notice board on January 27.

Karamjeet Singh, honorary secretary, said parties and large gatherings by the candidates or their agents are strictly prohibited.
