An eight-member panel, Event Permission Committee, has been constituted for granting permissions for holding or organising concerts, music shows or live shows, etc, in the UT.

According to an order issued by UT Home Secretary Mandip Singh Brar, the UT District Magistrate will be the chairman of the committee, while officers competent to issue NOC from the departments of police, traffic and security, MC, Estate Office, fire, and any other department as deemed fit by the chairman or committee will be the members of the committee. The SDM of the area in which the event is scheduled will be the member secretary of the committee.

As per the order, the chairman of the panel will frame the standard operating procedure to grant permission for such events. The committee shall ensure that permissions are issued in a time-bound manner and all applicable rules/guidelines/bylaws strictly are adhered to.
