A total of 16 teams from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Baroda and Chhattisgarh will participate in the 29th edition of the All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament from September 10 to 20. According to Vivek Atray, former IAS officer and convener of the tournament, the meet would prepare cricketers for the upcoming domestic season of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

According to Capt Sushil Kapoor, organising secretary, a total of 16 teams have confirmed their participation. The teams have been divided into four pools.

All matches will be played on league-cum-knockout basis. The top team of each pool will qualify for semifinals. The final match of the tournament will be played at the PCA Stadium, Mohali.

The tournament will be held at the PCA Stadium, Mohali, Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium, Patiala, Mullanpur International Cricket Stadium, Mohali , Mahajan Cricket Ground, Chandigarh, and TDL Cricket Stadium, Panchkula.

The winners will get a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and the runners-up Rs 1.50 lakh.
