Cops follow up on ‘Safer Neighbourhood’ drive
The police today took one step ahead in the ‘Safer Neighbourhood’ campaign by conducting a follow-up meeting with the Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and Mohali citizens at Sports Complex, Phase 11, here.
ADGP Cyber Crime, Punjab, V. Neeraja; DIG Ropar Range Nilambari Vijay Jagdale and Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek held the meeting.
The police officials, along with the city residents, assessed the progress made on the issues raised during the previous meeting held under Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on October 8, particularly focusing on the goal of creating a safe neighborhood for the residents.
The follow-up meeting reviewed the ongoing efforts of the police in addressing public safety concerns, crime prevention strategies and promoting overall community welfare.
The meeting was convened to ensure improvement in law and order, enhancing public safety and building a strong relationship between the police and the residents of the area. V. Neeraja emphasised the need for continued vigilance and proactive measures to ensure that the public feels secure in their neighborhoods.
Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek presented a detailed report on the initiatives implemented by the police. The report highlighted increased patrolling in high-risk areas, enhanced traffic management strategies. “The initiatives have been aimed at reducing crime rate, ensuring quick police response and maintaining overall law and order throughout the district,” it said.
Cops claimed not a single snatching incident has taken place in Phase 11 in past one month.
Pareek stressed on the importance of community engagement in policing not only about enforcing laws but also about building trust and cooperation between the police and the public.
An interactive session was held where the residents shared their feedback and suggestions. Residents gave constructive feedback on areas where they felt improvements could still be made, particularly in ensuring quicker response time in emergency situations.
