Cop manhandled, one arrested
Chandigarh: A Dadu Majra resident was arrested for misbehaving and manhandling traffic staff. Complainant ASI Ombir Singh of the traffic wing reported that Baldev Kumar, who was stopped at the Sector 37/38 chowk, allegedly manhandled the traffic staff and tore their uniform. A case was registered at the Sector 39 police station. The suspect was arrested. TNS
SUV hits cows, driver booked
Chandigarh: An unidentified SUV driver has been booked for hitting cows on the road separating Sectors 49 and 50. A case under Sections 281 and 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act was registered at the Sector 49 police station. TNS

Chandigarh: The UT police have booked an immigration consultant for cheating. The police said the complainants, Nadeem, Mehar, Kamal and Rajan, alleged that the owner of Golden Services, Sector 21, duped them of Rs 2.40 lakh on the pretext of sending them abroad. TNS
Dera bassi shop owner robbed
Dera Bassi: Two bike-borne, masked men robbed a medical shop owner of her gold chain, bracelets and finger ring in Gulmohar City Society here on Monday. Complainant Ritika Malhotra stated that the robbers entered the shop holding a paper cutter in hand. While fleeing, the duo left the paper cutter there. Cops said they were scanning the CCTV footage.
