Commission issues bailable warrant against firm directors
Asks Mohali DC to conduct inquiry into delay in attaching builder’s property

Revenue officers of Mohali district are in dock as the State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, UT, has directed the Mohali Deputy Commission to conduct an inquiry into the delay in attaching and auctioning the property of Ansal Lotus Melange Projects Limited despite the commission’s order.
The commission asked the Deputy Commissioner to submit the action taken report against the guilty revenue officials within two months.
The commission has also directed the Deputy Commissioner to attach the property of the builder. It also issued a bailable warrant against the directors of Ansal Lotus Melange Projects Limited.
Girish Kumar Aggarwal, a resident, filed an execution through his counsel Narender yadav due to non-compliance of the commission’s order wherein it directed the Kharar Tehsildar to attach the property of Ansal project and put it for auction to recover decretal amount of Rs21,45,738 as arrears of land revenue, but the same was not complied by the revenue official.
The commission further held that the conduct of the directors was punishable and issued summons to face the trial for committing the offence of non-compliance, said Yadav.
The commission, in its order, said the presence of the directors and the additional director be secured through bailable warrant of arrest in sum of Rs50,000 each with one surety each in the like amount for the next date of hearing.
Directions are issued to the Commissioner of Police, New Delhi, and Senior Superintendents of Police, Panchkula and Chandigarh, to make efforts for due execution of arrest warrant and report be submitted by the officers on or before the next date of hearing.
The commission, in the order issued last year, had directed the builder to refund the entire amount, actually paid by the complainant for a residential unit, along with interest and also pay Rs75,000 compensation for causing mental agony and physical harassment and Rs22,000 cost of litigation to the complainant.
