College notes: NMIMS School of Technology & MGMT
Chandigarh: The NMIMS School of Technology Management and Engineering recently organised - Anviksha 2024 - its first annual tech fest. The event drew participants from 35 institutions, including Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), New Delhi, Amity University, Chitkara University, NIT, Raipur, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Delhi Technological University (DTU) and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The event featured a range of competitions, with CODEFIESTA 2.0 emerging as favourite of contestants.
Chandigarh Group of Colleges
Mohali: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, organised a workshop aimed at fostering leadership, self-reliance and personal growth. Over 500 girl students and 100 staff members participated in the event. The workshop titled - Be Your Own Boss - focused on confidence-building, grooming and personality development. The event showcased shaping future-ready women leaders who are well-prepared to navigate today's competitive world.
Government College of Commerce
Chandigarh: The Financial Literacy Society of the Government College of Commerce and Business Administration (GCCBA), Sector 50, organised an insightful talk titled "Financial awareness and consumer training (FACT)". Led by Dr Monika Aggarwal from the National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE), the session aimed to empower first-year BCom, BBA and BCA students with essential financial knowledge. At least 150 students attended the session.
Sri Guru Gobind Singh College
Chandigarh: Sri Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26, organised an expert lecture on "Stock market and portfolio management. Vishavdeep Sharma, SMARTs Trainer, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE), was the resource person on the occasion. He introduced students to intriguing world of the stock market. He elaborated on types of financial instruments and fundamental concepts of stock market investment.
Punjab Engineering College
Chandigarh: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be university) in collaboration with the IEEE, Chandigarh subsection, hosted a special awareness session on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). The session aimed to raise awareness among students about opportunities GATE and Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) present.
