College notes: Dev Samaj College of Education
Chandigarh: The IQAC and entrepreneurship cell in collaboration with NSS units of the Dev Samaj College of Education (DSCE), Sector 36, celebrated Diwali on the campus. The event featured an array of stalls offering a delightful blend of fun, food, games and shopping. It attracted participation from numerous schools across the region. The event also featured stalls selling exquisite home décor items, including handmade candles, diyas and other Diwali-themed decorations, allowing visitors to shop for unique festive gifts.
SSGI, Dera Bassi
Mohali: Sri Sukhmani Group of Institutions (SSGI), Dera Bassi, celebrated Diwali with festivities that showcased the enthusiastic participation of faculty and other staff echoing the theme of ‘go green.’ The celebrations of Green Diwali at the SSGI featured a variety of events, including an antakshari, a rangoli-making competition and games for employees.
Govt College of Education-20
Chandigarh: Government College of Education (GCE), Sector 20, won the Zonal Youth Festival 2024, winning a total of 32 prizes of 34 events competed in various categories. The college showcased its exceptional talent, reaffirming its position as a leading educational institution in the region. A total number of 54 students participated in 34 items under the guidance of principal Sapna Nanda. The youth festival was held at GHG Khalsa College of Education, Gursar Sadhar of Ludhiana district, Punjab.
SGGS, Sector 26
Chandigarh: Sri Guru Gobind Singh College (SGGS), Sector 26, organised a series of activities, including a slogan writing competition, poster-making and a nukkad natak, to spread electoral literacy and encourage young voters to recognise the power of their vote. The highlight of the event was the nukkad natak, where students presented an impactful street play on the significance of voting, touching upon issues such as responsible citizenship and informed voting.
MCM DAV College, Sec 36
Chandigarh: The library committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Sector 36, organised the inaugural session of ‘Suniye Sunaiye’- a storytelling initiative aimed at reviving the lost art of reading aloud and attentive listening. The event proved to be a successful step towards reviving this important art form of storytelling, which is slowly fading away.
