Chandigarh and Punjab lads claimed majority of the points on the basis of the first innings lead, during their respective matches of the Col CK Nayudu Trophy.

Chandigarh lads claimed points against hosts Uttrakhand at Kaushki Ground. While the city lads posted 528 runs in their first innings, Uttrakhand batters replied with 236. However, forced to follow-on, the host team performed well and managed to post 409/8 to avoid a straightaway defeat.

Harsh Rana and Shashwat Dangwal emerged stars for the hosts, as the duo came up with brilliant tons. Resuming from 114/1, Harsh along with opener Abhyuday started the day. However, the former was caught by Akshit Rana off Anmol Sharma for 57 off 99 balls, with eight boundaries. Thereafter, the hosts lost Aanjaneya Suryavanshi (25), Sanskar Rawat (12) and Shubham (1), till Dangwal joined Harsh and the duo raised a 108-run partnership. Harsh was playing at 186 off 283 balls, with 20 boundaries and one six, when he was caught by Devang Kaushik off Samardeep.

Dangwal, on other hand, remained unbeaten at 105 off 154 balls, with nine boundaries and four sixes, to trouble Chandigarh bowlers in ensuring a win. At the end of the day’s play, Uttrakhand lads were at 409/8. Samardeep returned with a five-wicket haul, while Neel, Anmol and Harshit claimed one wicket each for the bowling side.

Punjab lads also bagged maximum points on the basis of the first innings lead against Rajasthan, at New International Stadium in Mullanpur. The hosts posted 250 and 280/7 in their two innings. In reply, the Rajasthan batters posted 235 and 161/3.

In their second innings, Rajasthan’s Sumit Godara made 80 off 155 balls, with nine boundaries and two sixes, while RH Sharma posted 66 off 180 balls, studded with 10 boundaries.

Emanjot Singh Chahal claimed two wickets and Manish Sheroan picked one.
