CM inaugurates Rs 8L bird shelter in Panchkula, flags off Arogya bike
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today inaugurated a Rs 8 lakh Pakshi Niwas on Mata Mansa Devi Gaushala premises and flagged off Arogya Bike for augmenting health services in the Morni area.
The 52-ft high bird tower has been build to protect winged creatures from cold, heat, rain and dust storms. The six-storied tower has 650 paved nests. Each nest can accommodate four to five birds.
The CM also inspected the Kalam Express Ambulance for children with special needs, besides attending a blood donation, eye and health check-up camp on the occasion of 73rd birth anniversary of former Union Minister and Ambala MP late Rattan Lal Kataria.
Talking to the media, the CM said there was no greater cause than blood donation. “Rattan Lal Kataria was a wonderful person. I had the experience of working with him for a long time. He still rules the hearts of people due to his language and style. He was a fearless speaker and had no animosity towards anyone. Today, with the efforts of his wife Banto Kataria, a blood donation, eye and health check-up mega camp has been organised in his memory,” Saini said.
More than 200 units of blood were collected at the camp organised in collaboration with Red Cross Society, Civil Hospital, Panchkula, and Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Sector 46, Chandigarh.
The Chief Minister encouraged the donors and interacted with them.
Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, Panchkula Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, former Speaker of Assembly Gian Chand Gupta and officials of the district administration were present on the occasion.
