Chandigarh Police observes Raising Day

On the occasion of their 58th Raising Day of the Chandigarh Police, UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria awarded top three positions to three police stations in ‘DGP Running Trophy for Best Police Stations’. Sector 26 police station got the first prize of Rs 25,000, Sector 11 police station the second prize of Rs 15,000 and Mauli Jagran police station the third prize of Rs 10,000.

Three cops have also been awarded with the top three positions for ‘DGP Running Trophy for Best investigating Officer’. Inspector Shiv Charan was awarded Rs 25,000, SI Naveen Kumar Rs 15,000 and ASI Kuldeep Singh Rs 10,000. Two police officials have also been awarded with the ‘DGP Running Trophy for Best Beat Officer’. Constables Sanjay and Kamaljeet Kaur were awarded Rs 15,000 each.

Earlier, Kataria took the salute at the parade held at the Parade Ground, RTC, Police Lines, Sector 26. The parade contingents of Chandigarh Police headed by the parade commander, Dheeraj, DSP,Traffic, marched along with the 14 platoons of the parade, along with the pipe and brass bands.

Rajeev Verma, Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh, Surendra Singh Yadav, Director General of Police, Chandigarh, and officers from the Chandigarh Administration and Police Department, municipal councillors, senior citizens, distinguished invitees and retired police officers were present at the function.

Surendra Singh Yadav, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh, delivered the welcome address to the honourable guests as well as to the audience.
