Chandigarh Administration hikes minimum wages

In order to provide much needed relief to workers employed in factories, shops and commercial establishments, who are drawing minimum rate wages, the UT Administration has increased minimum salaries for the period from April 1 to September 30, 2024.

The revision has been done after considering the consumer price index numbers received from the UT Labour Bureau.

According to the revised rates, monthly wages of unskilled employees have been increased from Rs 13,659 to Rs 13,834 and daily wages from Rs 525 to Rs 532. Similarly, monthly wages of semiskilled employees have been increased from 13,809 to Rs 13,985 and daily wages from Rs 535 to Rs 542.
