Campus notes: SGGSC, Chandigarh
The college inaugurated ‘Virasat: Sikh Heritage Centre’ — a museum designed in collaboration with Panjab Digital Library. The initiative aims at preserving and showcasing the rich legacy of Sikh heritage and culture, spanning several centuries. The museum pays homage to the 10th Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, and features rare artefacts, manuscripts and multimedia exhibits that chronicle his life, teachings and the historical events that shaped the Sikh faith.
Chandigarh University, Mohali
The university become north India's first university to launch e-Sanad Portal, an initiative of the Union Ministry of External Affairs, for online verification of documents for Indian and foreign students who intend to study abroad. With the launch of the portal, students will get a centralised platform for contactless, faceless, cashless and paperless document verification services.
Dev Samaj College, Chandigarh
The college celebrated 'NSS Day’. The main objective of the celebration was to spread awareness among participants about the role and significance of the NSS in the welfare of society. The NSS aims to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service. Dr Nemi Chand highlighted the importance of discipline and education in the empowerment of a person. He said hard work was mightier than destiny.
Sri Sukhmani Institute, Mohali
The faculty, staff and students of the institute celebrated World Pharmacist Day under the theme ‘meeting global health needs’. A medical camp was organised on the occasion to provide quality healthcare services. In the camp, various services including, general health check-up, blood pressure check-up, blood sugar testing and free medication were organised.
Govt College of Education, Chd
The NSS unit of the college conducted a seven-day special NSS camp with a valedictory function. The camp was an enriching experience for the volunteers and contributed significantly to community service and self-development. The function started with ‘shabad gayan’ and a formal welcome to State Liaison Officer Nemi Chand, Panjab University NSS Coordinator Prof Praveen Goyal and Panjab University Programme Officer and Master Trainer Sonia Sharma by Principal Sapna Nanda. The concluding day was marked by a blood donation camp at Khajeri Village.
CGC, Mohali
The group signed an agreement with Westcliff University, University of California, USA. The agreement will promote academic exchange, joint research projects and innovative academic initiatives between the two campuses. The partnership unites two academic powerhouses — India and the United States — creating a dynamic environment of innovation, cross-cultural learning and academic excellence, officials said.

Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh
A fancy dress competition was organised for the students of Kindergarten at the school with an aim to nurture children’s creativity. The students enthusiastically participated in the event, dressing up as various characters on the theme ‘Explore the Outer World’. The event provided them with a valuable opportunity to cultivate their imaginative skills. The young participants were appreciated for their efforts by Principal Parveena John Singh, who also awarded prizes to the winners.
Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh
The school’s auditorium came alive with a spellbinding qawwali performance by the world-renowned Niyazi Brothers. The event was organised by the school in association with SPIC MACAY. The International qawwals, Ustad Shahid Niyazi and Sami Niyazi, the masters of traditional qawwali, are known for their profound connection to the sufi tradition. The duo, along with their team, took the audience on a mystical journey through their rich repertoire of qawwalis, filled with passion, devotion and cultural heritage.
ASHIANA PUBLIC SCHOOL, CHANDIGARH
An informative and interactive workshop on ‘Creative Drama and Art In Education’ was organised for the school faculty. The session was conducted by Chandrashekhar, a renowned theatre actor, director and playwright. The session emphasised integrating acting techniques and characterisation in making learning interesting for students.
DAV Model School, Chandigarh
Nearly 500 students and teachers from the school’s branches in sectors 15, 7, 8, 39 and Mohali accomplished ‘Run For DAV’. The run began at Sukhna Lake and ended at the Rose Garden in Sector 16.
