Businessman robbed in Mohali

Five unidentified youths snatched a jeep from a Mandi Gobindgarh businessman, Deepak, near Sohana in the wee hours of Sunday. The assailants also took away an iPhone, a gold bracelet and other valuables after thrashing Deepak with a baseball bat.

The police said the incident was captured on a CCTV camera. The victim and a female had gone out for some work when the incident took place. He received serious injuries and was admitted to a local hospital. The assailants had come in a car and waited for the victim near Sector 77.

The victim had come from Mandi Gobindgarh to Mohali to visit his relatives and was going out for some work. DSP City-2 HS Bal said, “Prima facie it appears to be a work of four to five unidentified people. We are scanning the CCTV footage.”
