An immigration consultant has been arrested for operating without registration and police verification. The police said Anubhav Garg, the suspect, had been operating from Sector 17 without proper NOC. A case has been registered at the Sector 17 police station.

UP native held in arms case

Chandigarh: The police have arrested a 34-year-old man while possessing a knife. The police said the suspect, Ranvijay Partap Singh, alias David, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was held from Daria village. Cops have seized his SUV. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Industrial Area police station.

Woman held with illicit liquor

Chandigarh: A 60-year-old woman has been arrested by the Chandigarh Police for possessing illegal liquor. The police said the woman, identified as Ajmeri, a resident of Dhanas, was arrested from the area under the jurisdiction of Maloya police station. She was found in possession of 48 quarters of Royal General Whiskey and 48 quarters of Desi Santra. A case under Sections 61-1-14 of the Excise Act has been registered against her. She was later released on bail.
