Body found with hands, legs tied

The body of a Rajpura resident, Rana Pratap Singh (38) employed as a security guard, was found with hands and legs tied near Chhat light points, J-Block, in Zirakpur this afternoon.

The police said an information was received on the PCR vehicle that a body was lying in a vacant area near the road with a bike parked nearby. A forensic team along with the police reached the spot and began investigation.

The body appeared to be two-three days old. A razor was found near the spot but the police said they were probing whether it was used in the crime.

The police are also investigating the case through the murder angle. Zirakpur SHO Jaskanwal Singh Shekhon said, “The body has been kept in the mortuary of a local hospital. Further investigation is on.”
