Biker robbed of valuables at knifepoint
Four motorcycle-borne miscreants robbed a senior assistant in the Punjab Police of his jewellery and phone at knifepoint in Sector 23 here this evening.
The incident took place when the victim, Vinod Malhan, was returning home in Sector 23 from his office in Sector 9 around 6 pm.
Malhan stated that as he reached the cricket stadium chowk and turned towards the Sector 23/16 small rotary, he noticed a motorcycle following his bike. Shortly after, another motorcycle blocked his way, forcing him to drive towards a deserted lane.
“The miscreants, who had their faces covered, threatened me with a knife and took away my gold karah, two rings and mobile phone,” Malan recounted.
The police rushed to the spot on getting information and initiated an investigation. The footage of CCTV cameras in the area is being scrutinised to identify the culprits.
