Bid to forcibly enter Chandigarh Air Force Station
Chandigarh: A Mani Majra resident has been arrested for allegedly trying to forcibly enter the 3BRD, Air Force Station. According to the police, the complainant, Devinder Singh Saini, Group Captain, Station Security Officer, 3BRD, reported that Harsh Pathak tried to enter the station by accelerating his car on Thursday. A case has been registered under Sections 353 and 186 of the IPC at the Sector 31 police station. TNS
Youth nabbed with opium
Chandigarh: A 23-year-old youth has been arrested by the police with opium. The police said Dev Raj, a resident of Dhanas village, was nabbed near the football ground in Sector 17 while he was in possession of 500-gram opium. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Sector 17 police station. TNS
Mobile phone snatched
Chandigarh: A pedestrian snatched a mobile phone from a woman near the wine shop at the Grain Market in Sector 26. The police have registered a case at the Sector 26 police station and started investigation. TNS
MC marks ‘cycle to work’ day
Mohlai: Commemorating 75th Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, the Municipal Corporation on Friday observed ‘Cycle to Work’ day. All MC employees, including officers and Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma, came to office on cycles. The Mayor greeted the officials at the entry gate. A selfie stand was also installed at the entry gate where all the employees clicked selfies. The event was held under the banner of ‘freedom to cycle’. TNS
BSNL foundation day celebrated
Chandigarh: A blood donation camp was organised on 21st foundation day of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited at the BSNL Telephone Exchange Building here on Friday. Chandigarh: The Post Graduate Department of Economics at GGDSD College, Sector 32, organised a webinar on the “Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on Indian Economy and the Road Ahead”. Prof Arun Kumar, Malcolm Adisesheah, Chair Professor at the Institute of Social Sciences, was the key note speaker. Free camp for kids organised
