Kalyani Singh, an accused in the murder case of national-level shooter and advocate Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu, aka Sippy Sidhu, had an alibi that she, along with her family, had attended a birthday party on the evening of September 20 when Sippy was shot dead. However, as per the CBI investigation, her alibi didn’t hold water.

Kalyani and her family members said on the day Sippy was shot dead, they, along with their relatives, were present at a house in Sector 10, Chandigarh, for a birthday party and they had remained there throughout the celebrations from 8.15 pm to 11 pm. The other people present at the birthday party also corroborated the versions of Kalyani and her family members.

However, the CBI investigation revealed that during the birthday celebrations, photographs were clicked between 7.51 pm and 8.20 pm and thereafter between 10.20 pm and 10.26 pm by a person who was attending the party. However, Sippy Sidhu was reportedly shot dead in a park of Sector 27 around 9.30 pm.

The investigation also revealed that to ascertain the veracity of the statements of the accused and her family members, polygraph examinations of Kalyani and her father Parminder Singh were conducted at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, New Delhi, after recording their consent before the court.

The report of Kalyani’s polygraph examination had revealed that her answers to the questions relating to her absence from the party, her presence at Sector 27 and the killing of Sippy Sidhu were found to be deceptive. Kalyani, meanwhile, refused to undergo a narco analysis test or a scientific test to prove her innocence.

However, the polygraph examination of her father was found to be truthful. The other people who attended the birthday party refused to undergo a polygraph examination.

Accused refused to undergo narco test

The report of Kalyani’s polygraph examination had revealed that her replies to several questions were found to be deceptive. Later, she refused to undergo a narco analysis test or a scientific test to prove her innocence.
