Amandeep Drall carded the only sub-par score of the day to take a two-shot lead in the opening round of the fourth leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the Bangalore Golf Club today.

Two-over after the first eight holes, the Panchkula golfer made the amends with birdies on the 11th, 15th and the 16th to finish 1-under 69 at the par-70 course.

In contrast to Amandeep’s round, Delhi’s Vani Kapoor was 2-under through the first eight holes but she dropped shots on 9th, 11th and 16th to finish two shots behind the leader.

Bengaluru’s Asmitha Sathish, still an amateur, had no birdies but dropped shots on the 2nd, 4th and 16th for a card of 73 that placed her third on the leaderboard.

Neha Tripathi (74) was fourth while Kapurthala’s Gursimar Badwal and Anousha Tripathi shared the fifth spot at 75 each.

The second amateur in the field, Sneha Sharan, was seventh with a card of 76, while Pranavi Urs, winner of last two events on the Women’s Pro Tour, had a rough start as she traded a lone birdie for eight bogeys for a total of 77 and was tied 8th with Khushi Khanijau.

Interestingly, Pranavi won last week despite a card of 8-over 80 in the third leg. She will be hoping to make up over the next two days, just as she did in Chennai.
