Achievers honoured with excellence award
Persons who made it big despite numerous challenges in their lives, were honoured with ‘Indian Oil Honsle Ki Udaan’ Excellence Award’ today.
Pankaj Rai, Deputy Director, Administration, PGIMER, who was the chief guest on the occasion, gave away the awards.
During the event, powerful stories of ordinary people were showcased through short videos.
Among those awarded were two brothers, Ashwani and Raj Kumar, who despite being 100% visually impaired, are successfully running a grocery store in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. Ravi Kumar (45) from Amritsar, who once used to work at a vegetable shop, has now become a successful entrepreneur. Architect Shavi Garg, who is unable to speak and hear, is successfully running her own business in Chandigarh. A mother of twin boys, she was also among the awardees along with her husband Romal Garg, who faces similar challenge in his life, and is working as Town Planner in Mohali.
Another awardee on the list was Kunwar Ravinder, a social worker who is devoted to the welfare of ex-servicemen, martyrs and their families.
Besides, there are two Mohali-based entrepreneurs Kunal Khullar and Mrinal Khullar, both brothers, who started a venture in software development from a small room 12 years ago, which is a major player in the field today. Chandan Sanwal, who has done exceptional job in digital space, was also honoured.
