Battle of ballot

Aam Aadmi Party candidate Prem Garg today met advocates at the office of the District Bar Association here and sought votes on the promise of honest politics.

Garg said, “People ask me why I want to enter politics. My answer is that only one honest person in politics can change the entire scenario.”

He said people should themselves identify if any of the current MLAs was honest. “We want our representative to be educated and honest. The people’s representative should have a vision for the development of the city and region, including resolving issues of industry, basic amenities and others.”

He pointed out that he wanted to bring about healthy politics in the society. He added, “Therefore, I have decided against speaking anything derogatory about other candidates. They too have not said anything wrong about me.”

The AAP leader said people had already seen the tenures of Gian Chand Gupta of BJP and Chander Mohan of Congress as MLAs.

“People should look around and identify the works that have been done in the past several years. People should vote for me if they think these representatives have not done anything for Panchkula,” he said.
