85,000 MT of paddy procured in Mohali

Grain market in Mohali district recorded an arrival of about 88,000 MT of paddy by Saturday evening, of which 85,000 MT had been procured by agencies, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain said.

Eighteen purchase centres have been set up in the district. An amount of Rs 154 crore has been transferred to the accounts of farmers.

Jain said the administration had 8,000 trial packs of bio decomposer with the Agriculture Department and the farmers can get these to decompose the stubble into the soil.

Rupnagar: A total of 43,411 MT of paddy has arrived in grain markets of Rupnagar district, of which 41,998 MT has been purchased by various procurement agencies. Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain said, “Till now, 15,480 MT of paddy has been purchased by Pungrain, 9,127 MT by Markfed, 9,409 MT by Punsup, 4,064 MT by warehouses, 3,498 MT by FCI and 420 MT of paddy has been purchased arhtiyas.”
