85.5% clear Class XII board exams in Panchkula district

The girls have once again outperformed boys by securing first three positions in the Class XII examination in the district the results of which were declared by the Haryana School Education Board (HSEB) on Wednesday.

Panchkula district recorded overall 85.55 per cent result as 3,078 students passed out of the total 3,598 pupils, who appeared in the exams in Panchkula district.

A total of 381 students of the district have got compartment and 139 students failed to pass exams.

Divulging details District Education Officer (DEO) Urmil Devi said, “Tanya of Rajkiya Sanskriti Model Senior Secondary School, Bataud, has bagged the first position in the district by securing maximum 481 marks out of the total 500 marks in commerce subject.”

The DEO said Mandeep Kaur of Sarthak Government Model Integrated Senior Secondary School had secured first position in arts and second in district by obtaining 480 marks. In medical stream, Mansi of Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 6, had bagged first position in the district by securing 474 marks while Julie Kumari of the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sector 15, had come second by securing 474 marks in arts, the DEO added.

Tanya of Bataud village, who secured first position in commerce stream, said, “I had never thought of securing the first position in the district. I was confident of securing the first position at the block level. I would do BCom.”

She gave credit for her success to school Principal Jitendra Kumar, teachers and parents. Tanya said apart from school, she used to study for seven to eight hours and her aim was to become an economics teacher. Tanya said she used her father’s mobile phone to do school work and got full support of parents.

Mandeep Kaur, a student of the Sarthak Government Model Integrated School, Sector 12-A, who has secured second position in the district and first position in the arts faculty, gave credit to her maternal grandfather and grandmother, school Principal Dr Pawan Kumar Gupta and teachers.

She said her parents lived in Surajpur, near Pinjore, and her father works as medicine supplier with a pharmacy while her mother was a housewife. Mandeep said her aim was to become an IAS officer and her maternal grandfather was her role model.

Mansi, who was selected from the Super 100 competition, Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 6, topped in the medical stream and got third position in the district. Expressing happiness at the result Mansi said she could have done better. Manshi said her aim was to become doctor and she would now prepare for appearing in the NEET exam. She said her mother Chhima Devi, a resident of Saunti village, near Pehowa, was an Anganwadi worker and her father died when she was only three-and-a-half-years-old.
