6 Chandigarh residents succumb to virus, toll crosses 100 mark
Chandigarh, September 16
Six persons died of Covid in the city today, taking the toll past the 100 mark.
Among the deceased were a 94-year-old man from Sector 11, who had chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and hypertension, a 78-year-old man from Sector 35, who suffered a respiratory failure.
A 75-year-old man from Sector 22 suffered a cardiac arrest while a 60-year-old man from Ram Darbar and a 46-year-old man, who were diabetics, and a 60-year-old man from Sector 29 were the other victims.
The Covid death pertaining to a 76-year-old man from Ram Darbar, which was reported on September 1, has been deducted from the UT toll figure. The man reportedly belongs to Haryana, clarified the GMCH-32. The UT toll now stands at 101.
Meanwhile, 366 new cases of Covid were reported from the city. A total of 181 patients have been reportedly recovered from the disease, taking the total recoveries in the city to 5,683. — TNS
