The police nabbed five suspects from different locations with five pistols, 23 rounds of ammunition, Rs60,000 fake Indian currency notes and stolen vehicles.

On January 17, the police got a tip-off that Inderjeet Singh, a resident of Mansa, and Karamjeet Singh (Kala) of Ludhiana had an illegal weapon and were roaming on a stolen scooter in Kharar to commit theft. The suspects were arrested from the Landran road at Badala T-point with two pistols, 10 rounds of ammunition and a scooter.

During investigation, they confessed to have stolen cars from Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib district and Haryana.

In another case, Ajay Kumar of Jagatpura, Mohali, was held with illegal weapons near Gurdwara Bauli Sahib, Dhakoli. However, his associate Ravi Kumar escaped from spot. One pistol and four rounds of ammunition were recovered from Ajay.

On January 18, the police nabbed a Mansa resident, Rajwinder Singh, and a Delhi resident, Maan Singh, with illegal weapons near Boothgarh village. Two pistols and nine live rounds were recovered from the suspects. — TNS
