4 people die of Covid-19 in Mohali, toll up to 40

Four Covid-19 deaths, 93 new cases and 18 recoveries were reported from Mohali district on Tuesday.
A 76-year old man from Sector 65 died of the viral infection on Tuesday. He was suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and tuberculosis.
In Mamupur, a 56-year-old woman with a history of diabetes lost her battle to coronavirus. A 42-year-old mam from Dera Bassi was the third casualty. He was reported to be hypertensive. In Zirakpur, an 87-year-old man, with severe lung disease, succumbed to the infection.
The total case load in the district has crossed the 2,000-mark.
Two 78-year-old men, one each from Zirakpur and Phase 7, Mohali, were the oldest patients detected while a nine-year-old girl from Mundi Kharar was the youngest patient to have contracted the virus.
Twelve cases from Zirakpur, 10 from Kharar, and six each from Dhakoli and Mundi Kharar were reported among others.
As of now, there are a total of 2,004 cases in Mohali with 969 being active. As many as 995 patients have been discharged from various hospitals in the district. The death count in Mohali has touched the 40-mark.
On Monday, the district reported the highest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases with 102 positive cases and 28 recoveries.
