3,820 MT paddy purchased by agencies, says Panchkula DC
Deputy Commissioner Dr Yash Garg said 3,820 metric tonnes (MT) of paddy had arrived in three grain markets of Panchkula district on Tuesday. He said 3,820 MT of the produce was purchased by various agencies. He said 3,517 MT of paddy was lifted from all three grain markets in the district.
Dr Garg said 780 MT of paddy arrived in Panchkula grain market, 820 MT in Barwala grain market and 2,220 MT in Raipur Rani grain market yesterday. The paddy that reached mandis was purchased by HAFED. He said HAFED lifted 780 MT of paddy from Panchkula, 2,220 MT from Raipur Rani while Haryana Warehousing Corporation lifted 820 MT of paddy from Barwala grain market.
Dr Garg said 81,125 MT of paddy had arrived in all grain markets of the district so far. Out of this crop, 9,180 MT arrived in Panchkula grain market, 43,125 MT in Barwala grain market and 28,820 MT in Raipur Rani grain market. He said 59,221 MT of the produce was lifted by agencies from all grain markets.
He said HAFED purchased 8,680 MT of paddy from Panchkula grain market, 27,050 MT from Barwala grain market and 28,820 MT from Raipur Rani grain market, while Haryana Ware Haryana Warehousing Corporation purchased 500 MT of crop from Panchkula grain market and 16,075 MT from Barwala grain market.
Dr Garg said so far, 14,589 farmers of the district had arrived at the grain markets with their produe. He directed agencies to expedite the paddy lifting work. He also appealed to farmers to manage the crop residue instead of burning it.
