3 flights cancelled, three diverted, several delayed

Three flight arrivals were cancelled, three had to be diverted and several others delayed by three to four hours at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport Chandigarh today.

Two arrivals from Delhi and one from Bengaluru had to be cancelled due to poor visibility. An IndiGo advisory stated that “due to dense fog currently reducing visibility in Chandigarh, flight schedules are impacted”.

The early morning Pune-Chandigarh flight and Bengaluru-Chandigarh flight (7:40 am) were diverted to Jaipur. The Abu Dhabi-Chandigarh international flight (8:55am) was diverted to Delhi.

Almost all flight departures for Lucknow, Hyderabad, Chennai, Patna, Bengaluru and Mumbai were two to three hours behind the schedule in the morning. Poor visibility continued to affect operations in the evening also.
