Panchkula, August 6

The Panchkula police have arrested a man and recovered 300 gm opium from his possession. The accused has been identified as Guddu (27).

Police officials said the anti-narcotics cell received a tip-off regarding the drug peddler’s presence near Madawala in Pinjore for sale of drugs. The police recovered 300 gm opium worth Rs 1 lakh from his possession. A case was registered under Section 18 of the NDPS Act.

Police officials said they presented the man in a local court which sent him to five-day police remand.
