2 festival special trains to pass through Chandigarh
For the convenience of people and to accommodate the rush during the festive season ahead of Diwali, the Indian Railways will run two special trains that will pass from the Chandigarh Railway Station.
Under the Ferozepur division, the Jammu Tawi-Howrah-Jammu Tawi reserved Festival special Express Train (04608/04607) will make two trips from Jammu Tawi to Howrah and two trips from Howrah to Jammu Tawi.
On October 30 and November 4, the train (04608) will start from Jammu Tawi at 8.20 pm and reach Chandigarh on the subsequent days at 4.05 am and halt for 10 minutes, resuming its journey at 4.15 am. The train will reach Howrah on the third day at 1.20 pm.
The train (04607) will make two trips from Howrah to Jammu Tawi on November 1 and November 6, starting from Howrah at 11.45 pm and reaching Chandigarh on the third day at 6.10 am and culminate its journey at Jammu Tawi at 3.20 pm.
Another train (04680/04679) Katra-Kamakhya (Guwahati)-Katra will also be running via Chandigarh. Commencing from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, the train no. 04680 will take two trips on October 28 and November 2.
On the other hand, train no. 04679 will also make two trips from Guwahati to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra on October 31 and November 5. The train will start from Katra at 6.40 pm, reaching Chandigarh the next day at 4.05 pm, and end its journey at Kamakhya on the third day at 9 pm. From Kamakhya, the train will start at 6 am and reach Chandigarh on the third day at 9.25 pm.
