National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Panchkula, is hosting ‘Converge 2024’, from October 23 to 25, bringing together talent from 19 NIFT campuses across India. Over 1,000 students are participating in the three-day event, which showcases a rich tapestry of cultural performances, sports events, literary competitions and more.

Distinguished guests attended the inauguration of the event at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula today. The function was attended by Panchkula NIFT Director General Tanu Kashyap, who was the chief guest for the event and Panchkula DC Yash Garg, who was the guest of honour. The fest featured a diverse array of over 35 events, spanning disciplines such as sports, cultural performances, essay writing, photography and literary competitions.

The performances also incorporated the values of fair sportsmanship and comedy along with passion and dedication by the students under the careful guidance of the club advisors.

Kashyap gave a powerful message to the participants. She emphasised the importance of embracing the spirit of competition as a way for learning and growing. She reminded the students that the goal was never to ‘get through’, instead, it was to embrace the process.

Institute Director Amandeep Singh Grover extended a warm welcome to the participants and emphasised the importance of unity, creativity and collaboration.
