The police on Wednesday arrested a man after recovering 378 gm opium from his possession. The team, headed by Crime Branch Sector-26 in-charge inspector Dalip Singh, acting on a tip-off, arrested the accused, Rajkumar of Bhawanipur district, Badaun. The accused is currently residing in Dafarpur, Mohali.

As per police spokesperson, the team of Crime Branch Sector-26 was on patrol when information was received from a source that the accused sells opium and was in the vicinity of the Sector 27-28 dividing road. After apprehending the accused, police recovered 378 gm opium from him.

A case was registered against the accused under section 18 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at the Chandimandir police station. The accused was produced before the court and sent to a four-day police remand.
