1.5 lakh saplings planted in Mohali

The administration planted around 10,000 saplings with the help of school students, NGOs and CRPF personnel at Johlan Kalan village here today. An average 50,000 saplings each have been planted in the three subdivisions in a day.
Jasmin Kaur and Harkirat Singh, students of Government High School, Johlan Kalan, who participated in the campaign along with other students, said the effort made to plant saplings in their village was commendable. CRPF, 5th Signal Battalion and various NGOs and villagers extended full support to the administration during this campaign.
Dera Bassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa said he would visit the village once a week to see the saplings planted by him.
Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain claimed that a total of 1.5 lakh saplings were planted in a single day to spread the message of Mission Green on a large scale.
