Chandigarh Education Secretary inspects schools

Chandigarh, June 13

With an eye on ensuring that the government school infrastructure in the UT is upgraded before the commencement of classes after the summer break, Education Secretary Purva Garg today, accompanied by the Director, School Education, officials of the Engineering and Education Department, inspected GMSSS-38 West, GMHS-38 West, GMSSS-Maloya, GHS-Maloya.

During this inspection of the schools, the Education Secretary stressed on need to ensure the availability of safe drinking water, sports facilities and upgradation of the IT infrastructure in schools to be taken up on the mission mode. The Engineering Department confirmed that pending works would be completed before the commencement of the classes.

The DEO was directed to issue direction that all principals to personally ensure that their respective schools were ready in all respects before the commencement of the classes.The Education Secretary also directed all Deputy Directors, the DEO and the Deputy DEO of the Education Department to personally visit schools within this week and send proposal on the issues that need resolution.
