Chabbewal bypoll: Returning Officer meets nodal officers
In connection with the bypoll to be held on November 13 in the Chabbewal assembly constituency, Returning Officer Rahul Chaba held a meeting with the nodal officers of various departments deployed for the election process. He asked the nodal officers to ensure the election process was carried out in a smooth and systematic manner.
There were a total of 205 polling stations in the Chabbewal constituency and the number of voters was 1,59,141 —83,544 men, 75,593 women, 4 transgenders, 21 NRIs and 601 service voters.
Returning Officer, Rahul Chaba directed the nodal officers to ensure the preparations and arrangements related to the election were completed in time so the entire process may be completed in a systematic manner. He said the nodal officers should perform their duties with responsibility and dedication.
The Returning Officer said the election code of conduct should be followed so the elections may be conducted in a fair and transparent manner. The Returning Officer said various teams have been formed under the supervision of nodal officers to complete the election process smoothly.
It is worth noting that according to the notification issued by the Election Commission of India, polling would be held on November 13 and counting of votes would be done on November 23. The last date for filing nomination papers was October 25. The scrutiny of nomination papers would be done on October 28 and the date for withdrawal of nominations was October 30, 2024.
The Returning Office, Rahul Chaba, said nomination papers would be accepted at the office of the Returning Officer located at the district administrative complex on the scheduled days from 11 am to 3 pm.
