Central team begins inspection of Lahaul projects
National-level monitors from the Ministry of Rural Development yesterday inspected various development works, which are being implemented under the Central Government schemes, at Warpa panchayat in the tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti. They also held discussions with beneficiaries on whether they were getting benefitted from the Centre-run development projects. The feedback collected from the beneficiaries would be compiled in a detailed report about the execution of Central projects.
The inspection will continue in other panchayats of the district. A meeting was also held in this regard today at the Deputy Commissioner’s office at Keylong.
In the meeting, Lahaul and Spiti DC Rahul Kumar instructed officials to provide detailed reports on the physical and financial achievements of the ongoing projects.
He emphasised the importance of on-site inspections to ensure compliance with the government’s objectives.
Anupam Negi, a member of the national monitoring committee, highlighted that inspections would cover various development projects implemented over the last five years, including the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), and the Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana.
