Cash, narcotics worth Rs 1 cr seized in Rohtak
Extensive security arrangements have been made by the district police authorities for the upcoming Assembly elections. Special security checkposts have been set up at 15 strategic locations in the district.
Personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces as well as the Rohtak police equipped with advanced security and communication equipment have been deployed at the checkposts round the clock to maintain a tight vigil.
Rohtak Superintendent of Police Himanshu Garg said the model code was being strictly implemented in the district ever since the announcement of the Assembly elections.
“Rs 55.70 lakh in cash, narcotic drugs worth more than Rs 50 lakh, 15,155 bottles of liquor worth about Rs 10 lakh and 19 unlicensed weapons, along with magazines and 48 cartridges worth more than Rs 4 lakh have been seized between August 16 and September 23,” the SP said.
He stated that suspicious vehicles and persons were being thoroughly checked.
