Campus notes: Swachhta Awareness Rally
Yamunanagar: NCC cadets from 14 Haryana Battalion NCC in Yamunanagar undertook several cleanliness activities as part of the “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign, under the leadership of Commanding Officer Col Jarnail Singh and Administrative Officer Col Jatinder Singh. A Swachhta Awareness Rally was organised by cadets from Saraswati Public School, Jagadhari, spreading awareness to approximately 1,000 people. In another event at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chuharpur, 47 cadets, along with faculty members, took the Swachhta Pledge, further promoting the cleanliness drive among students.
Tributes paid to Bapu, shastri
Kurukshetra: On the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Kurukshetra University paid tributes to the leader at the Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta Sadan on campus. Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath SaChandigarheva, Registrar Prof Sanjeev Sharma, along with university officials, employees, and students, honoured the memory of Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding his statue. Prof SaChandigarheva remarked that Gandhi had shown the world a new path by adhering to non-violence. The university also commemorated the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, recognising his legacy of honesty, service, and simplicity.
Swachh Bharat Diwas observed
Mahendragarh: The Central University of Haryana (CUH) organised “Swachh Bharat Diwas” on October 2, 2024, as part of the “Swachhata Hi Seva” Special Campaign 4.0. The event, themed “Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata”, included a cleanliness drive called “Sampoorna Swachata through Shramdaan”. Vice-Chancellor Prof Tankeshwar Kumar initiated the event and emphasised the importance of cleanliness for a healthy life, urging everyone to take responsibility for maintaining a clean environment. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Sushma Yadav also participated, stressing the need for collective efforts in cleanliness.
