Campus notes: Stalwarts School Student wins bronze
Amritsar: The 5th International Yoga Sports Cup, held from October 24 to October 27 at Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, saw exceptional talent taking part. Representing Stalwarts World School, second-grader Hazel made the school proud by competing in the Under-8 category and achieving an impressive third place, bringing home a bronze medal. Principal Manisha Dhanuka congratulated Hazel, encouraging her to continue excelling and embracing the spirit of sportsmanship.
Excelsum shine in roller-skating championship
Amritsar: Excelsum High School students won medals in the 36th Open Punjab State Roller-Skating Championship 2024, hosted in Ludhiana. Ridham Gill claimed gold medal in the 1,000m rink race and silver medal in the 500m rink race, along with a bronze medal in the 1-lap road race. Samaira Gill secured a bronze medal in the 1-lap rink race. Gunita Grewal, Director-Principal of the school, congratulated both the winners on their achievement.
Spring Dale wrestler wins C’ship
Amritsar: Spring Dale Senior School welcomed its champion wrestler Uday Sharma when he returned after winning a gold medal in the School State Wrestling Championship. Spring Dale wrestler Uday Sharma made his school proud with his outstanding performance leading to medals for the city and his school. Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, Chairman, Spring Dale Educational Society, shared the information that Uday has secured two gold medals in the final matches of the School State Wrestling Championship. “Earlier too, Uday had made his school proud by winning two gold medals during the School District Wrestling Tournament and two gold medals in the Wrestling Khed Mela District Tournament,” said Sandhu. School principal Rajiv Kumar Sharma said that wrestling and other such combat art-based games need mastering the finest of skills which can be attained only by consistent hard work.
Workshop on entrepreneurship
Post-Graduate English Department of Khalsa College in collaboration with Institution Innovation Council (IIC) organised a workshop on the subject of entrepreneurship and innovation. Gurminder Singh (MD, Prepax Institute) and Prabhjot Singh (MD, Learner’s Abode, Amritsar) participated as speakers. The workshop organised on the subject of entrepreneurship and innovation aimed to enable the students to deal with the challenges in life. Dr Gursharan Kaur said the organisation has been established in every college by the Government of India so that talent in students can be tapped. Gurminder Singh provided information about the requirements and qualities necessary for entrepreneurship and innovation and answered the questions of the students. The second speaker at the workshop, Prabhjot Singh, shared ideas about the enterprises that can be started by mastering the English language.
