Campus notes: Special lecture organised
PU regional centre
Ludhiana: Legal Aid Clinic, University Institute of Laws, Panjab University Regional Centre, organised a special lecture on ‘Lok Adalat: As a Mode of Dispensing Justice’. The guest speakers were Harwinder Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate and secretary, District Legal Services Authority ,Ludhiana, and Varinderjeet Singh Randhawa, Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel, Ludhiana. The engaging dialogue focused on the inclusive nature of Lok Adalats, National Lok Adalats, Permanent Lok Adalats and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms namely mediation, negotiation and conciliation.
Guru Gobind Singh Public School
A ‘Tiny Tots Fiesta’ was organised at Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Daad. Numerous playway schools registered themselves for participation in the event. Parents accompanied their children to the school with great enthusiasm. The school campus was decorated beautifully. The fiesta was commenced with a recital of gurbani by the students of the school. The tiny tots engaged all present through cultural performances on the stage. These included various dance forms, songs, poems, stories, etc.
Amrit Indo Canadian academy
Manvi Negi, a student of Amrit Indo Canadian Academy, has made her school and state proud by winning the gold medal in the Punjab State Level Judo Competition. Held at Government Model Senior Secondary School in Gurdaspur from October 6-8, the competition saw Manvi demonstrate exceptional skill, strategy and determination. Manvi’s impressive victory has not only earned her the medal, but also secured her a spot to represent the state at the National Level Judo Competition. The achievement is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport, the principal said.
