Yamunanagar: The Department of English and marketing at the Guru Nanak Girls College organised a DGHE approved multi-disciplinary seminar on ‘Mastering Information Literacy’. The seminar was conducted under the guidance of the director, Dr Varinder Gandhi and the principal, Dr Harvinder Kaur. The resource persons for the seminar were Dr Dinesh Kumar, Dean Academics Affair, Kurukshetra University; Dr Amit Kumar, Institute of Law, Kurukshetra University; and Dr Ritu Kumar, Adjunct Professor of the department of English of the college. The seminar focused on the crucial role of information literacy in today’s digital age, emphasising the ability to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively across various disciplines.

Coaching for Sc/ St students

Mahendragarh: The process of online application has started under Dr Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE), established in Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendragarh, to prepare students belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Other Backward Classes for the competitive examinations — Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and HCS. Students who are interested may apply online till November 10. The DACE coordinator, Prof Antaresh Kumar, said this centre provided by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has provided success to about 50 candidates for IAS, IPS, HCS and other government examinations through coaching in the last two years. He said students who belong to the SC and OBC and have a family income less than Rs 8 lakh per annum may apply for the coaching.

DAV PG College wins 22 prizes

Karnal: The DAV PG College secured 22 prizes at the 47th Zonal Youth Festival, held from October 16 to 18. The college principal, Dr RamPal Saini, expressed immense pride and satisfaction in the college’s achievement. He said the college’s success was a testament to the hard work, dedication and nurturing environment provided by the principal faculty and staff.
